ABOUT THE HERMITOLOGIST
ABOUT ME
I’m Louise Amanda Allen, a Clairvoyant Futurist, the founder of Hermitology.
My work explores the relationship between mental health, human development, complex and dynamic systems, neurocognition, emerging technology and future society. With a first class degree in Developmental Psychology, I am especially interested in how human beings think, develop, adapt and flourish as technology becomes increasingly embedded within everyday life.
I also have a strong interest in the historical evolution of mental health, particularly alienists and alienism, and the ways earlier societies understood mental illness, cognition and human behaviour. That historical perspective informs my interest in contemporary neurocognition and the changing relationship between human intelligence and machine intelligence.
My background as a clairvoyant medium also shapes the way I interpret patterns, human experience and future possibility. I bring intuitive, psychological, social and technological perspectives together through a systems based approach that allows me to explore relationships across disciplines rather than treating each field as isolated.
THE MISSION
My mission is to explore what humanity needs in order to flourish as intelligent technologies, complex systems and new forms of cognition continue to evolve.
I am particularly interested in the growing relationship between human vs machine cognition, and the psychological, social, technological and ecological consequences of that relationship. Hermitology has already identified human flourishing, advanced neurocognition, biotechnology, applied sciences and humanisation transparency as significant areas of inquiry.
At the centre of my work is an eco philosophy that prioritises ecological wellbeing, human flourishing, positive psychology, integrity, moral responsibility and respect.
The aim is not simply to predict the future. It is to study emerging change, understand its implications and develop practical ways of responding to it.
The question that sits at the heart of my work is:
What will humanity need to become as our technologies become more intelligent, complex and autonomous?
HERMITOLOGY
Hermitology is the framework through which I develop this work across research, education, technology and applied systems.
Its core methodology is Research, Developments and Applications, or RDnA. Within this model,
Research is The School.
Developments are The Solutions.

Applications are The Technology.
Hermitology operates across disciplines, industries and sectors, bringing together areas such as psychology, artificial intelligence, cognitive systems, law, life sciences, decentralisation, materials science, computational systems, ecology and emerging technology. The wider programme is designed to move research beyond theory and into practical development and application.
My long term aim is to establish Hermitology as a school, a technological ecosystem and a framework for solvency, capable of producing research, solutions and technologies that respond to real world developments while remaining centred on human flourishing.
Hermitology is therefore both a philosophy and an applied system. It is a space for studying the future, developing new ideas and turning those ideas into meaningful forms of practice.
